Jennifer Hudson and her long-time fiance David Otunga have broken up after a decade.

The couple never got married.

A spokeswoman for Hudson offered this statement: "Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiance. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son 8-year-old David Daniel Otunga Jr.”

To People magazine, Otunga sent out this response, saying she made this move to try to keep him from getting primary custody.

“David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now,” the statement read. "“However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child’s primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute."

"As a result of Mr. Otunga’s career in the WWE," statement continued, "Ms. Hudson felt that she could give an award winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim. Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him. Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child."

David Archuleta, now 26, came out with a new album recently after a long hiatus. He spoke with the Salt Lake Tribune about his life in Nashville and how he's matured. He provided nothing remotely sounding like dirt. Come on - it's David Archuleta!

While he's doing more singer-songwriter work, he said his current record is not a Christian album per se.

"I think I've definitely grown up. I was 16 when I started getting publicity, when people started watching to the degree that it was with 'American Idol.' It happened so quickly and I still didn't know who I wanted to be," Archuleta said. "I think a lot of that was I was a very conservative person, I was a very introverted person. … To be in a world where I had to be 'on' all the time, and all of a sudden to feel like I couldn't be myself or people weren't going to like me or watch me … I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I don't know how to do this!' … It was really overwhelming."
