In a direct bid to compete with Bailey and Southside on Rock 100.5, the newly renamed Alt 105.7 is adding the syndicated Woody Show from Los Angeles.

Led by Jeff "Woody" Fife, the irreverent morning show features several of his long-time friends plus an executive producer who is well known in Atlanta circles: Sebastian Davis, known at both 99X and The Regular Guys show on Rock 100.5 as Sebas. He was known in Atlanta for taping audio at conventions and bars seeking comical interplay. Sebas left Atlanta for the better-paying Los Angeles gig in 2015.

The show has been on the Los Angeles Alt 98.7 since 2014 and IHeartMedia decided earlier this year to give syndication a try.

Although the show is on the West Coast, it will be live to the East Coast at 3 a.m PST.  "This is a huge opportunity for all of us, and are committed  to making it work," Fife said in an email. He said the show isn't targeting any particular rock-based audience. "You’ll be able to tell better when you hear it, but we cast a pretty wide net," he wrote.

In this day and age where folks who want a jukebox are increasingly using Spotify and Pandora, personality is becoming the differentiator for local music stations. This is a clear change of strategy for what has been the generically named Radio 105.7 until the recent name change to Alt.

Current Alt 105.7 morning host Wendy Rollins will moved to mid-days. Rollins joined 105.7 in August, 2016 for mornings and was given the assistant program director role in January.
