Straight From the A's Michelle Brown posted an item last night speculating whether former FalconChuck Smith's wife Mynique is being considered to be a new cast member of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Brown said Mynique was seen hanging out with the cast members of the show, which is in the sixth season of production. She posted photos of Mynique with various cast members.

I contacted Mynique's husband Chuck via text this morning. He said he has known NeNe Leakes for 24 years growing up in Athens and Mynique and Nene have been friends for 12 years.

He said she has not officially joined the cast but attended Leakes' recent remarriage wedding with Gregg and got to know the other cast members and became friends with many of them.

Still, he implied that Mynique certainly could be part of the show, either as a guest, recurring member or a full-time member.

"She is just hanging out with friends, as a guest of NeNe but anything is possible," he wrote.

And would he be comfortable with her joining the cast?

"I support my wife in all endeavors she is involved in. I believe in her."

He and Mynique have three children.

Smith spent eight seasons with the Atlanta Falcons in the 1990s. He has worked as a radio host on V-103 and 790/The Zone. He also spent a year as defensive line coach at his alma mater the University of Tennessee.

Two seasons ago, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" tested Marlo Hampton for a potential full-time cast membership role. But news came out that she had multiple arrests on her record and on the show itself, she came across so gratuitously grating that RHOA wisely chose to keep her as a recurring one-season participant only. (In TV parlance, "recurring" means she shows up on occasion but not in every episode.)
