Watch Red Hot Chili Peppers' Atlanta-filmed video for 'Goodbye Angels'

When the Red Hot Chili Peppers visited Atlanta last month , they had more on their agenda besides musically pummeling a sold-out crowd.

The band also used the tour stop to film a video for “Goodbye Angels,” the latest single from their 2016 album, “The Getaway.”

Footage from the RHCP performance of the song – which was played during the encore – is interspersed with the plot: A young woman gets high and crashes in hazy fashion.

Throughout the clip, the blond protagonist (Danish actress Klara Kristin) pops pills, bops through the backstage hallways of Philips Arena (where she passes bassist Flea on a stationary bike underneath an Atlanta Hawks logo), gets frisky with a random woman in the bathroom, gazes into the night with the SkyView Ferris Wheel in the background and strolls through The Gulch – with a brief stop to publicly urinate.

Welcome to Atlanta!

The concert footage also makes good use of the band’s captivating light show, as well as their robust funk riffs.

The video was directed by Thoranna "Tota" Sigurdardottir. The decision to film it in Atlanta was “happenstance,” according to a band spokesperson.
