Steven Tyler solo tour will play Atlanta

Steven Tyler is going “Out on a Limb” with a solo tour that will play intimate venues, including one in Atlanta.

The Aerosmith frontman will swing by Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre at 8 p.m. Sept. 1. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 14 via all Ticketmaster outlets, the venue box office, and by calling 1-800-745-3000. Tickets are $56.95 - $146.95.

Throughout the tour, Tyler will be backed by his Nashville-based band, Loving Mary. He plans to rework Aerosmith classics, tell stories “from his musical ancestors in Calabria, Italy all the way to Route 440 and Nashville's country music” and likely play songs from his upcoming country release, due this fall.

The show, directed by film director Brett Ratner, premiered earlier this week at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall as a benefit for Tyler’s charity, Janie’s Fund.
