Oasis is rumored to reunite for Ariana Grande Manchester benefit concert

Ariana Grande has already enticed a high-wattage group of musician friends to help her pay tribute to those affected by the Manchester bombing, but it’s possible the tragedy will also bring Oasis out of brother-feuding retirement .

The show, set to take place Sunday at Manchester’s 50,000-capacity Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, will already include performances by Grande, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Niall Horan from One Direction, Pharrell Willliams and Usher, who will apparently head there straight from his Saturday night performance at the Andrew J. Young International Leadership Awards at Philips Arena.

But the Irish Mirror  reports that Manchester sons Oasis could be a quiet addition to the bill – no doubt a meaningful moment of musical healing for people in the city.

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher wished his brother Noel a happy 50th birthday on Twitter sans signature sarcasm, leading some to believe that the siblings can shelve their rivalry for the benefit of their hometown.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. All of the artists waived their performance fees, while promoter Live Nation is underwriting the cost of the concert and Ticketmaster is not charging its standard ticket fees.

Grande suspended her tour in the aftermath of the terrorist violence following her May 22 concert at Manchester Arena.

On Friday, she tweeted a heartfelt letter which read, in part, “There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.”
