The Masquerade is still hanging on in its old location.

The Masquerade was supposed to open in its new westside home shortly after the Wrecking Ball Festival earlier this month.

But construction delays at 1421 Fairmont Ave. mean that all concerts for the foreseeable future will be held at the original North Avenue location in the Old Fourth Ward.

The venue posted a message on its Facebook page that a new move date is forthcoming.

In June, plans were announced for the move , which is being forced by the development of a $60 million mixed-use development called North + Line on the surrounding property. The venue itself is protected as an Atlanta landmark, so the current Masquerade will eventually be repurposed.

Another headache for the The Masquerade – its owners are being sued by a neighboring developer who plans to build a pricey 75-home subdivision near the new location of the venue. More information to come from MyAJC.com.
