John Mellencamp sets summer concert date at Chastain

John Mellencamp will hit the road again this summer for his “Sad Clowns & Hillbillies Tour.”

The musical troubadour, who played the Fox Theatre in 2015 on his “Plain Spoken Tour,” will return to Atlanta with a June 27 date at Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Tickets will range from $55.50-$90.50; an on-sale date hasn’t been announced. A couple of VIP packages will also be available.

Throughout the tour, Mellencamp will be joined by Emmylou Harris (except for two dates in Oregon, where Jewel will step in), Carlene Carter and folk-pop sister duo Lily & Madeleine.

Mellencamp, who recently released the single “Easy Target,” will unveil his new album named after the tour on April 21. Every ticket purchased online will include a physical CD of the new work, Mellencamp’s 23rd full-length album, which also features Carter.
