Jimmy Buffett will return to Atlanta for a spring concert

Jimmy Buffett will venture outdoors in Atlanta for the first time since 2014 when he plays Verizon Amphitheatre on April 17 as part of his “I Don’t Know” tour.

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band will perform at the Alpharetta venue for the first time and serve as the launch of the 10th concert season at the amphitheater.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 12. Prices are TBA.

The last time Buffett and his merry band visited the area was in 2015 at Infinite Energy Arena.

Buffett fans also have the Broadway debut of “Escape to Margaritaville” to look forward to this year . The musical, which has already played in La Jolla, Calif., New Orleans, Houston and Chicago, will open at the Marquis Theatre (former home of the Gloria Estefan musical, “On Your Feet”) on March 15. A Broadway cast recording will be released this spring.
