The music industry reacted with expected horror at the devastating massacre at the Route 91 Harvest music festival Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Georgia's Jason Aldean was closing out the three-day event when gunfire erupted from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino across the street from the concert site, a 15-acre lot known as the Las Vegas Village and Festival Grounds.

Aldean and fellow Georgia country star Sam Hunt, another headliner at the festival, posted heartfelt messages on Instagram.

Other artists, including fellow Route 91 performers Jake Owen, Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne and Big & Rich and Vegas regulars Celine Dion, Elton John and Britney Spears, expressed their grief on Twitter.
