Future will perform at the Atlanta Hawks’ home opener

The Atlanta Hawks will get an assist from a hometown musical favorite at their inaugural home game in the newly transformed State Farm Arena.

Hip-hop star Future will be the first artist to play during a Hawks game when he takes the court both mid- and post-game on Oct. 24. The Atlanta-born hitmaker behind “Jumpman,” “Same Damn Time” and “Mask Off” will also join the Hawks to host 100 guests from his Freewishes Foundation during the nationally televised game against the Dallas Mavericks. The non-profit organization was co-founded by Future, his mother Stephanie Jester and sister Tia Wilburn-Anderson.

The Hawks will also collaborate with Future’s Freebandz record label and sell limited-edition merchandise during the game (T-shirts, a hoodie and windbreaker) co-branded with the team and Freebandz logos. The items will also be available at

Tickets for the game, which tips off at 7 p.m., are available at
