Free ticket giveaway: Brit Floyd concert at the Fox Theatre

Pink Floyd fans have pretty much resigned themselves to never seeing another reunion tour.

But thanks to extravagant tribute bands such as Brit Floyd, the classic music of Pink Floyd lives on.

In 2011, guitarist/singer Damian Darlington exited the Australian Pink Floyd Show after 17 years to start Brit Floyd because he thought he could create a better production.

Brit Floyd formed that year in Liverpool, England, to pay homage to the iconic psychedelic-prog rockers with all of the eyebrow-raising trimmings — a million-dollar light show, high-definition sound and snazzy video design.

For this “Pink Floyd Immersion World Tour 2017,” which plays the Fox Theatre at 8 p.m. May 25, the band will give special attention to the “Animals” album (which is celebrating its 40th anniversary) in addition to select songs from “The Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” “The Wall” and “The Division Bell.”

Thanks to our friends at the Fox, I have a pair of tickets to give away to the show. If you’d like to buy tickets, they are $35-$58 and can be purchased at www.foxtheatre.org, at the venue box office or by calling 1-855-285-8499.

To enter to win the free pair: Send an email to mruggieri@ajc.com by 6 p.m. Friday, May 19. Please put “Brit Floyd” in the subject line or I won’t see your email, and if I don’t see your email, you will have zero chance of winning.

Please do not enter if you cannot attend the show, and please, only one entry per email address.

I will randomly select a winner and contact that person directly (as well as post it here).

While it’s not required, I would appreciate a follow on Twitter and/or Facebook .

Good luck!

Ceramic Christmas trees were big in the 1960s and ‘70s. Irreversible muscle damage linked to statins

Q: Several weeks ago, you wrote about the side effects of cholesterol-lowering statin medicines. According to the article, these drugs can attack muscle tissue, and the damage may be irreversible. That is what happened to me. I now need to use a cane when I walk, and I worry that someday I might need a wheelchair. I took statins for only a short time...

Where to find snow and fun near Atlanta this holiday season

More than just a song about the ones you used to know, a white Christmas can be magical. Snowflakes create the chance for snowball fights, fireside romance and everything in between. Living in Georgia, though, means a winter wonderland isn't very likely – and you might be stuck in traffic anyway. Luckily, if you've got your two front teeth...
