2 Chainz is making the best of an uncomfortable situation.
The Atlanta rapper broke his leg the weekend before his tour was to kick off with a sold-out, hometown concert at the Tabernacle.
Though doctors told him he would likely have to cancel the entire outing to heal, he resumed the tour Thursday night in Tucson, Ariz., with a novelty approach – he performed in a pink wheelchair, in keeping with the color motif of his new album, “Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.”
In an Instagram post, 2 Chainz promoted resiliency and told fans, “never let anyone or anything get in the way of you being great!”
A rescheduled Atlanta date for 2 Chainz is expected to be announced soon.
2 Chainz isn't the first artist to make the best of a bum leg. In 2015, Dave Grohl took the stage at Centennial Olympic Park in a customized throne. The Foo Fighters frontman had broken his leg after tumbling from the stage earlier in the tour.
A year later, Grohl loaned the contraption to Axl Rose to use after the Guns 'N Roses yowler broke his foot prior to the band's "Not in This Lifetime" tour kickoff.
