The death of Swedish EDM star Avicii on Friday prompted an outpouring of love and condolences on Twitter from other big names in the tight-knit community.

Avicii, born Tim Bergling, was found dead in Oman at the age of 28 . No cause of death has been identified, but the young artist retired from touring in 2016 due to health problems including pancreatitis. In 2014, he canceled his appearance at TomorrowWorld , which was then held in Chattahoochee Hills.

Throughout his decade-plus career, Avicii worked with artists including Lenny Kravitz and Nicky Romero, while playing some of the largest EDM festivals it the world.

He broke through the mainstream in a massive way with his inescapable 2013 hit, "Wake Me Up," which was certified six times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Here are some tributes from his peers.
