Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will tackle the songs of Prince

The familiar strains of “Let’s Go Crazy” and “1999” will receive a musical facelift when the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra tackles some of Prince’s biggest hits next year.

"The Music of Prince" show with the ASO will be presented at Atlanta Symphony Hall at 8 p.m. Jan. 26. Tickets, priced at $29.50-$89.50, are on sale at noon June 9 via www.ticketmaster.com, the Woodruff Arts Center box office and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The show will be conducted by Brent Havens and include the vocal work of Marshall Charloff, the frontman for the Prince tribute outfit, The Purple Xperience. In addition to the ASO, members of Windborne Music, the long-running organization that produces symphonic presentations of classic rock bands (“The Music of Led Zeppelin,” “The Music of Pink Floyd,” “The Music of The Doors” among them), will perform as well.
