Project Pabst
The Atlanta debut of the festival spotlights the only local show of the year from Run the Jewels, as well as a set from fellow hometown favorites Mastodon. The Atlanta gathering is the third festival date for the Project Pabst concert series — Denver and Portland played host to events earlier this year, and Philadelphia will close out the series Oct. 8. Also on the bill: Santigold, NOFX, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, the Internet, Real Estate, Titus Andronicus and more. Along with two main outdoor stages, the Earl and 529 will offer additional live music.

Many Rivers to Cross
It's an ambitious undertaking, producing a festival that blends music with a call for racial and social justice. But the inaugural Many Rivers to Cross music and arts fest, created by Harry Belafonte's sankofa.org social justice organization, aims to attract those interested in discourse, as well as music lovers, with a lineup including Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, T.I., Macklemore and Public Enemy. Belafonte's daughter Gina, who is co-director of sankofa.org, likens it to Woodstock meets "We Are the World" 2.0.

This is the first headlining tour for New Orleans duo Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, who are supporting their new sophomore album, "SremmLife 2." The sometime Atlanta residents will be joined by hometowner Lil Yachty, who unveiled a new 15-song mixtape called "Summer Songs 2" in July.

Eric Johnson
The guitar wizard is hitting the road to support his first acoustic solo album, “EJ.” While Johnson is known for his guitar pyrotechnics and intricate technique, he’s turning more introspective on his latest release, which includes nine original songs and four covers, including Simon & Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair,” on which he plays piano.
