Top performances from Week 11: Fromm's career night keeps Houston County in hunt

Reports of the demise of Houston County and Jake Fromm were premature.

Fromm, the blue-chip quarterback who is committed to the University of Georgia, passed for a career-high 534 yards and rushed for a career-high 119 yards against Northside of Warner Robins. The victory prolonged Houston County's season. The Bears still must beat No. 1 Valdosta in a Region 1-AAAAAA game this week to advance to the playoffs.

Here are some of the top performances from last week.

Top five

*Houston County QB Jake Fromm was 28-of-43 passing for 534 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-35 victory over Northside of Warner Robins. Fromm rushed for 119 yards on 19 carries.

*Jenkins QB Javonte Middleton passed for 309 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown in a 55-28 victory over Windsor Forest. The victory clinched Jenkins' first region title in 50 years.

*Lakeview Academy QB Alec Bornhorst was 29-of-44 passing for 286 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-35 victory over Towns County. Bornhorst also intercepted two passes.

*North Hall RB Kyle Bacus rushed for a school-record 337 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in a 68-42 victory over East Hall.

*Turner County WR/DB Ontario Wilson scored four touchdowns on returns in a 59-6 victory over Wilcox County. Wilson returned a punt 75 yards and a kickoff 71 yards and interceptions of 34 and 74 yards. He had a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown called back on a penalty.

*Buford RB Anthony Grant rushed for 173 yards on 31 carries in a region-winning 35-10 victory over Loganville.

*Callaway RB D.J. Atkins rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 57-yard TD pass in a region-clinching 36-14 victory over Spencer.

*Carver (Atlanta) freshman RB Jo'Quavious Marks rushed for 243 yards and on only 10 carries and scored on runs of 50 and 70 yards in a 47-0 victory over Lithia Springs.

*Cedar Grove LB William Jenkins had six tackles, three for losses, and a sack in a 64-0 victory over McNair.

*Cherokee WR/RB Montrell Washington had 11 receptions for 125 yards and rushed for 52 yards in a 31-28 victory over Lassiter.

*Clinch County QB Charles McClelland rushed for 250 yards - giving him exactly 1,000 on the season - and three touchdowns on 19 carries in a 38-10 victory over Charlton County. The win broke Clinch County's nine-game losing streak in Folkston.

*Colquitt County QB Jay Saunders was 17-of-23 passing for 204 yards and two touchdowns in a region-clinching 42-35 victory over Lowndes. Saunders also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.

*Dawson County WR Kolton Brumbelow returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and had two catches for 63 yards and a touchdown in a 54-8 victory over Lumpkin County.

*Eastside DL Spurgeon Gaither had four tackles for losses and two sacks in a 49-14 victory over Salem.

*Etowah DB Stuart Head had three receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown, an interception, a blocked field goal, a forced fumble and eight tackles in a 34-30 loss to Walton.

*First Presbyterian QB Dalton Cox threw for 303 yards and six touchdowns in a 47-0 victory over Mount de Sales.

*Grayson LB Breon Dixon had 3.5 tackles for losses in a 36-14 victory over Hoover, Ala.

*Hardaway CB Antonio Campbell intercepted two passes, returning one 78 yards for a touchdown, the other 45 yards to the 5-yard line, in a 48-17 victory over Shaw. Campbell had six tackles.

*Houston County WR Eli Watson (10 catches, 181 yards), WR Amari Colbert (6-186) and RB Jaeven West (6-103) were top receivers in a 534-yard passing effort in a 45-35 victory over Northside of Warner Robins.

*Irwin County RB Jeremiah Ashley rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries in a 70-6 victory over Atkinson County.

*Jefferson County QB Jaden Jenkins and QB Chardell Hales, alternating behind center, rushed for 238 yards and passed for 293 yards in a 65-26 victory over Josey.

*Jefferson freshman QB Colby Clark passed for 128 yards, rushed for 88 and made seven tackles in a 35-7 victory over Stephens County. Clark threw two TD passes and scored a touchdown.

*Kell LB Solon Page III had 17 tackles in a 42-14 victory over Woodland of Cartersville.

*Liberty County RB Jaalon Frazier passed for 319 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-14 victory over Brantley County.

*Macon County QB K'hari Lane was 10-of-11 passing (one pass dropped) for 200 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-0 victory over Central of Talbotton.

*Mary Persons ATH Jaton Sims had 208 yards and three touchdowns on just four touches in a 49-7 victory over Perry. Sims had 44 yards on two rushing attempts, one 67-yard reception and one 97-yard kickoff return.

*Mitchell County WR/DE Demetrius Jones caught eight passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-0 victory over Baconton Charter. Jones had a sack and a forced fumble on defense.

*Model QB/LB Kyler Eldridge rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries and made 12 tackles in just three quarters of a 24-0 victory over Coosa.

*Montgomery County RB/FS Clayton Harvey rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns and made seven tackles in a 52-21 victory over Georgia Military. Montgomery has won three straight after breaking an 18-game losing streak.

*Newton LB Deonta Clark had seven tackles, caused a fumble and intercepted two passes, one returned for a touchdown, in a 30-0 victory over Shiloh.

*North Gwinnett LB Walker House had 13 tackles, two for losses, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble in a 41-7 victory over Collins Hill.

*North Paulding WR Chad Terrell had seven receptions for 220 yards and three touchdowns, one for 90 yards, in a 48-7 victory over Kennesaw Mountain.

*Northgate RB Ton Evans rushed for 228 yards and five touchdowns in a 37-35 victory over Hughes.

*Our Lady of Mercy DE Tyler Hill had two sacks and two other tackles for losses in a 47-0 victory over Fulton Leadership Academy.

*Pierce County QB Stetson Bennett was 24-of-34 passing for 340 yards and three touchdown in a 38-28 victory over Appling County.

*Prince Avenue RB/WR Noah Campbell scored six touchdowns, four rushing and two receiving, in a 76-0 victory over Providence Christian. Campbell had three catches for 91 yards and six rushes for 148 yards.

*Rockmart DE Quincy Allen had eight tackles, six for losses, a sack and three QB pressures while playing only the first half of a 61-0 victory over Gordon Central.

*South Atlanta QB Jalen Thompson rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries and had a passing touchdown in a 28-27 victory over B.E.S.T. Academy.

*Sprayberry RB Trey Sermons rushed for 254 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries in a 23-20 victory over Creekview.

*Swainsboro RB K.J. McCoy rushed for 269 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries and completed a two-point conversion in a 40-17 victory over Jeff Davis.

*Terrell County QB/DB Tray Bishop rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on runs of 62 of 47 yards in a 34-12 victory over Calhoun County. Bishop also passed for 59 yards. He made four tackles on defense.

*Thomasville WR/DB Charlie Thomas had five catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns, scored on a run and returned an interception 50 yards in a 32-13 victory over Brooks County.

*Thomson RB Mike Thomas rushed for 245 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries in a 20-7 victory over Burke County.

*Treutlen QB Tyler Benjamin rushed for 204 yards and five touchdowns on 33 carries and passed for 47 yards and a touchdown in a 42-20 victory over Johnson County.

*Trion QB Jarret Gill was 12-for-12 passing for 266 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-14 victory over Gordon Lee. The yards are a school record, breaking a mark set by current Trion assistant Roone Gable from 1990, also against Gordon Lee.

*Twiggs County RB Javoria Smith rushed for 276 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries and caught two passes for 17 yards and a touchdown in a 40-37 overtime victory over Wilkinson County.

*Union County QB Cole Wright passed for 240 yards (16 of 20) and three touchdowns and rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries in a 63-39 victory over Fannin County.

*Upson-Lee RB Daymon Thomas rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in a 42-21 victory over West Laurens.

*Walton QB Addison Shoup was 28-of-38 passing for 351 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-30 victory over Etowah. WR Dom Blaylock had eight catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns and 80 returning yards.

*Wesleyan QB Banks Ramsey was 16-of-25 passing for 280 yards and six touchdowns in a 66-17 victory over Strong Rock Christian. Harrison Cook had 107 receiving yards and returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown.

*Winder-Barrow ATH Deon Williams rushed for 114 yards on six carries, scored on an 80-yard run, had three catches for 71 yards and returned two kickoffs for 164 yards, one a 91-yarder, in a 35-25 victory over Habersham Central. Williams had three tackles and broke up two passes.

Lines of distinction

*Commerce's offensive line of C Cade Ridley, G Garrett Ash, G Levi Pate, T Cade Overstreet, T Carson Hall and TE Matthew Flint blocked for 526 yards rushing on 73 attempts in a 42-30 win over previously unbeaten Athens Academy. Commerce averaged 7.2 yards per play and never attempted a pass. FB Cole Chancey rushed for 206 yards on 32 attempts. QB Lane Sorrow rushed for 194 yards on 27 attempts.

*Dodge County's offensive line of tackles Theron Cooper and Skyler Stanley, guards Shipp Dowdy, Jake Phelps, Dillon Lancaster and Wyatt Hargrove, center Alex Horne and tight end Cade Cranford helped produce 441 yards rushing on 38 carries in a 55-14, playoff-clinching victory over Bleckley County.

*Evans' offensive line of Cole Norsworthy, Deshawn Osborne, Sam Knight, Cameron Caldwell, Cameron Johnson, Jacob Peterson and Michael Staples paved the way for 653 total yards (550 rushing, 103 passing) in a 52-14 victory over Lakeside of Evans. Latravius Holiday rushed for 225 yards. Levin Lackey rushed for 171. The victory put Evans in first place in Region 3-AAAAAA and one victory from the school's first region title since 2008.

*Irwin County's offensive line of LT Lamar Thomas, LG Tristan Billingsley, C Tyler Soliday, RG Andrew Marsh, RT Jake Fletcher, TE Hunter Spires and OG Nathan Tucker have led the way to three consecutive 450-yard rushing efforts and most recently a 70-6 victory over Atkinson County.

*Lithonia's offensive line of Octavian Williams, Gerald Sanders, Kelvin Usher, Danny Watson and Broderick Jones were integral in 603 yards of total offense in a 77-14 victory over Miller Grove. QB Robert Hatchett III had 279 yards passing and 73 rushing.

*Mount Paran Christian's offensive line of TE Andy Crain, T Bart Perez, G Ben Lock, C Mathew Ramsey, G Carter Smith, T Landon Jackson, TE Kellum Rowan, TE Brady Scott and FB Will Moore paved the way for 458 total yards in a 38-26 victory over Mount Pisgah Christian. Chandler Webber (167) and Jack Allen (132) each rushed for more than 100 yards.

*Roswell's offensive line of LT Jordan Tucker, LG Grant Silver, C Lucas Adams, RG Jack Nichols, RT Rylan Summerour and TE Tyneil Hopper opened holes for two 100-yard rushers in a 59-7 victory over Woodstock. RB Sheldon Evans averaged 15.6 yards per carry. QB Malik Willis averaged 19.0 yards per carry.

*Treutlen 's offensive line of C Blaine Masters, G Shane Hattaway, G Nick Hester, T Michael Milton, T Seth Love and TE Dakoben Thomas led the way for more than 400 yards rushing in a 42-20 victory over Johnson County.

*Union County's offensive line of Dawson Groves, Zach Payton, Coleson Daniel, Tyler McConnell, Blane Brown and Del Ruff was the cornerstone of 607 yards in total offense in a 63-39 victory over Fannin County.
