Mill Creek’s Peter Chung was medalist at 2-under 142 and the Hawks won the Class AAAAAAA boys championship at Chateau Elan’s Legends Course. It was their first state title.
Mill Creek finished at 586 and beat Lambert by four shots. Grant Sutliff finished 1 over for Lambert. Mill Creek also got a 146 from Luke Karaulic, a 148 from Zach Mullett, a 74 from Alex Markham and a 75 from Jordan Smith.
Class AAAAAAA girls: Lambert won the state championship for the fifth straight year, cruising to a 10-shot win at Chateau Elan. The Longhorns were led by Christine McDonnell, Alison Crenshaw, Kate Owens and Loren Kim and finished at 46-over 478. Abby Bell of Woodstock was medalist with rounds of 72-75 147, with Louis Yu of Peachtree Ridge next at 151.
Class AAAAAA boys: Johns Creek needed its best effort to win its second straight championship. The Gladiators shot a 3-over team total over 36 holes and held off Creekview (6 over), Lakeside Evans (7 over) and Gainesville (8 over) at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
Andy Mao and Nic Cassidy each shot 2-under 142 to lead Johns Creek. Joey Moravec finished at 149, Thomas Gerard shot 74 and Calum Ross shot 72.
Creekview’s Brady Keran shot 4-under 140 to finish as medalist. That was one shot better than Greenbrier’s Austen Heider, Houston County’s Brent Hamm and Douglas County’s Austin Fulton.
Class AAAAAA girls: Johns Creek scored a five-shot win over Northview to win its first title at Chicopee Woods Golf Club. The Gladiators carded a 14-over total behind a even-par 144 from Amy Ng. Emma Provost shot 151, Charlie York shot 79 and Madilyn Zimmerman had a 72 for Johns Creek. Ng was co-medalist with Northview's Christyn Carr, who shot a second-round 70.
Class AAAAA boys: Andrew Crockett shot a 1-over 143 and led Starr's Mill to its first state championship at Sunset Hills Country Club. Mason Mayfield (152), Palmer Wilson (156) and Luke Phelps (147) led the Panthers to a 10-shot win over McIntosh and Ola. The medalist was Jackson Lawlor of McIntosh at 1-under 141.
Class AAAAA girls: Co-medalist Jocelyn Gao shot 11-over 155 to help Starr's Mill to its first title at Oak Mountain Golf Club. The Panthers also got a 170 from Ellie Camp, an 81 from Mary Hunter and a 77 from Liza Eubanks. Ware County's Kylee Wheeler also finished 11 over to share first place.
Class AAAA boys: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain at Columbus Country Club, Columbus shot a 5-under 279 to beat Marist by 15 shots and snap the War Eagle's streak of consecutive state titles at five. It was the second straight title for Columbus and the 12th overall.
Columbus counted a 68 from Jonathan Parker and 69s from Ben Carr and Nolan Miller. Daniel McKenzie of St. Pius was medalist at 67 and Jay Beach of Woodward tied for second with Parker at 68 and helped the War Eagles finish third.
Class AAAA girls: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Caroline Craig of White County and Hannah Jones of Blessed Trinity were co-medalists at 74, but Columbus came away with the team championship at Maple Ridge Golf Club. The Blue Jackets won their ninth title and first since 2014 behind a 76 from Mary Catherine McDaniel.
Class AAA boys: Pierce County used its balanced lineup, posting eight scores of 77 or better, to win the state championship at Lakeview Country Club. Taylor Sweat led the Bears at 145, followed by Ty Metts at 147, Zac Thornton at 149, Jake Harvard at 77 and Kole Kicklighter at 72. The medalist was Tyler Lipscomb of Bremen, who shot rounds of 70-67 to finish at 7-under 137 and win by seven shots over Greater Atlanta Christian's Liam Shinn and Lovett's Robert Ghirardini.
Class AAA girls: The Calhoun girls made it three in a row, beating Union County by 13 shots at Okefenokee Golf Club. The Yellow Jackets were led by Kate Mashburn, who tied for second at 10-over 154. The medalist was Carrol Pyon of Rutland, who shot a 2-over 146 and beat Mashburn and Tori Owens of Murray County by eight shots.
Class AA boys: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Cooper Greer shot a 76 and Cory Boazman and Jonathan Bryan each posted 78s to lead Model to the championship at Waynesboro Country Club. Jackson Toole of Vidalia finished a 2-under 70 to beat Coosa's Dawson Tate by four shot for low medalist.
Class AA girls: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Vidalia won its fifth straight championship at Applewood Golf Club. Vidalia's Jesse Dalton and Brette Bryant of Davidsdon Fine Arts were co-medalists at 80.
Class A Private boys: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Luke Dasher shot 1-under 70 at Green Island Country Club to help First Presbyterian win the title with a 5-over 289. Robert Howard of North Cobb Christian was medalist with a 68.
Class A Private girls: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Wesleyan won its second state championship and first since 2009 at Green Island Country Club. The Wolves got a 1-under 70 from medalist Elisa Yang and a 98 from McKenzie Keeler. Darlington, led by Sophia Kalusche's 73, finished second.
Class A Public boys: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Gordon Lee shot 15-over 303 and won by 42 shots at Landings Golf Club. Grey Weldon, Justin Hickman and Trucker Windham each shot 74s to share medalist honors.
Class A Public girls: In a tournament shortened to 18 holes because of rain, Gordon Lee and Portal shared the championship at Waynesboro Country Club. MaCall Miller of Gordon Lee was the medalist at 78 and Faith Reddick of Portal was second at 81.
