In Class 7A, defending state champion Parkview continued its grueling April slate with undefeated Berkmar and 9-4 Norcross this past week. The Region 7 matchups did not go in the Panthers’ favor and their slump continued. After opening the season 7-2, Parkview has now lost its last seven games with 10-4-1 Brookwood and 10-3-1 Alpharetta waiting to close out the season. The matchup with Berkmar was the conclusion of a previous meeting that was postponed by rain with the Patriots leading Parkview 3-1. The teams met on Monday to play just over 12 minutes of scoreless action to finalize the game.  Berkmar is in the driver’s seat to win the region crown, but there is still soccer left to be played for the 2013 Class 6A state champs. Berkmar will take on Lakeside-DeKalb on Friday before opening next week with Norcross. The final regular season game will take place on April 20
