Last week: Beat Woodstock 59-7. Roswell scored five touchdowns in the first five minutes. Malik Willis, playing only the first half, was 10-of-14 passing for 188 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 115 yards on six carries. Sheldon Evans rushed for 124 yards in limited minutes. Last week: Beat Hoover, Ala. 36-14. Grayson defeated Alabama's No. 1-ranked team. Grayson scored on a blocked punt and two short TD drives after Hoover turnovers. Will Van Pamelen kicked three field goals, one a 48-yard yarder. Chase Brice was 8-of-17 passing for 112 yards. Georgia teams are 3-2 since 2008 against Hoover, which has won nine state titles since 2000. Next: Friday at South Gwinnett (7-2)

Last week: Beat Lowndes 42-35. Colquitt County failed to hold a 35-14 lead but scored the winning points on Ty Leggett's 55-yard run with 5:25 left to break a 35-35 tie. Jay Saunders was 17-of-23 passing for 204 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Next: State playoffs

Last week: Lost to Colquitt County 42-35. Lowndes rallied from a 35-14 deficit to tie the game but could not prevail. QB Michael Barrett rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries but struggled passing, completing only seven of 20 attempts for 132 yards. Travis Tisdale rushed for 163 yards on 22 carries. Lowndes had a first down at the Colquitt 28 in the final minutes but got no closer. Next: State playoffs

Last week: Beat Hillgrove 35-28. QB Will Lovett was 14-for-18 passing for 244 yards and three touchdowns, including long ones to Imad Strozier (54 yards) and Drew Tejchman (70) that gave North Cobb a 21-7 lead in the first half. Last week: Beat Meadowcreek 49-7. Parkview led 35-0 at halftime. Caleb Mitchell threw four touchdown passes. Next: Friday at Central Gwinnet (4-5)

*1. (1) Valdosta (8-1)

Last week: Beat Coffee 15-10. Valdosta clinched its first region title since 2011. The Wildcats took a 15-0 lead in the third quarter and held on after Coffee got within 15-10 with 9:37 left. Hunter Holt was 14-of-21 passing for 118 yards and rushed for 52 yards. That was all but 50 yards of Valdosta's total offense. Next: Friday at Houston County (7-2)

Last week: Beat South Cobb 42-0. Dalton led by the final score at halftime. Ahmaad Tanner, playing only the first half, rushed for 100 yards on 13 carries. J.P. Tighe was 12-of-15 passing for 197 yards. Next: Friday at Allatoona (5-4)

*3. (4) Mays (8-1)

Last week: Beat Alexander 31-28. B.J. Phillips threw a 5-yard TD pass to Amir Abdur-Rahman late in the third quarter for a 31-28 lead. The winning points were set up by a long interception return by Ferlando Jordan to the Alexander 3-yard line. Chloe Robinson's 26-yard field goal in the second quarter proved to be the difference. Last week: Beat Mount Zion, Jonesboro 45-0. Taurean Taylor rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries and had a 19-yard reception. Tucker held Mount Zion to four first downs and 56 total yards. Malachi Buckner and Jakobi Jones intercepted passes. Next: Friday vs. Stephenson (6-3) at Hallford Stadium

*5. (2) Northside, Warner Robins (8-2)

Last week: Lost to Houston County 45-35. Northside put up 463 total yards but never led and gave up the most points in a game since 1993. Tobias Oliver passed for 134 yards and rushed for 174. Next: State playoffs

Last week: Lost to Mays 31-28. Daetrich Harrington caught TD passes of 69 and 59 yards, the second that gave Alexander a 28-24 lead midway into the third quarter, but Alexander found little offense after that. Last week: Beat Northside, Warner Robins 45-35. In a must-win situation to save its playoff hopes, Houston County took a 21-7 first-quarter lead and never trailed. Jake Fromm was 28-of-43 passing for 530 yards and five touchdowns. The quarterback also rushed for 122 yards on 19 carries. Last week: Beat Effingham County 48-0. Glynn Academy jumped to a 34-0 halftime and won easily in a game played on Tuesday. Glynn put up 448 yards rushing, 175 by Randon Jernigan and 123 by Deejay Dallas. Glynn completed only two passes, both to Jernigan for 23 yards. Next: Friday vs. Bradwell Institute (3-4-1)

Last week: Beat Loganville 35-10. Anthony Grant rushed for 173 yards on 31 carries. Christian Turner ran for 110 on 13. Buford held Loganville to 84 yards in total offense, minus-2 rushing. Buford won its 28th region title. Friday vs. Flowery Branch (3-6)

Last week: Beat Jones County 35-14. Stockbridge trailed 14-7 at halftime but broke the game open with a 21-point third quarter sparked by Kelton Dawson's 40-yard interception return for a touchdown. Jalen Holston rushed for 137 yards on 15 carries. Stockbridge held Jones County to minus-26 yards rushing. Next: Friday at Union Grove (1-7-1)

Last week: Beat Paulding County 42-14. Mecose Todd rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. QB Mark Wright rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and was 12-of-24 passing for 140 yards. LaDamion Hunt returned a fumble 52 yards for a touchdown and a 35-14 lead with 8:58 left. Last week: Beat Wayne County 27-3. Ware County led only 7-3 at halftime but scored 20 points in the third quarter to break it open. Ware County managed only 223 yards in total offense. Denzel Stephenson returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown. Next: Thursday at New Hampstead (2-5-1)

Last week: Beat Riverwood 15-14. Caylin Newton threw an 80-yard TD pass to Jacquez Sloan with about nine minutes left, then hit Sloan for a two-point conversion for a 15-14 lead, Grady's first of the game. Riverwood didn't threaten after that. Newton was 18-of-25 passing for 261 yards and two TDs, the first for 47 yards to DiMarcus Clay on a screen. Next: Friday at Banneker (5-4)

Last week: Beat Southwest DeKalb 14-7. Brandon Snowball scored on a 60-yard run in the fourth quarter to break a 7-7 tie, and Silas Butler made an interception in the end zone to help end it.
