Grayson 60, Rockdale County 0

How the game was won: Grayson led 32-0 after the first quarter and took a 53-0 lead into the half. Jamyest Williams ran in the Rams first touchdown from 1-yard out with 10:04 left in the opening quarter and Will Van Pamelen kicked a 34-yard field goal to make it 10-0 with 7:14 on the clock. Kurt Taylor ran in the first of his three touchdowns and after Breon Dixon run for the 2-point conversion, Grayson led 18-0. Quarterback Chase Brice closed the quarter with two touchdown passes in the final 1:18 to make it 32-0. Taylor’s second rushing touchdown came less than a minute into the second quarter and Deangelo Gibbs caught Brice’s third touchdown pass of the half from 8 yards out to make it 46-0. Taylor ran in an 8-yard touchdown with 1:01 left in the half to make it 53-0. After a scoreless third quarter, Grayson’s Kenyon Johnson caught a 52-yard touchdown pass from fellow sophomore J’Kori Jones to tally the final score.

Top performers: Grayson quarterback Chase Brice finished 11-of-12 passing for 207 yards and three touchdowns. Kurt Tayor ran in three Grayson touchdowns in the first half. The Rams rushed for 120 yards off of 19 carries.

Newton 13, South Gwinnett 12

How the game was won: Newton trailed 9-0 at halftime but took the lead 10-9 in the third quarter. There was no more scoring until inside a minute to play when South Gwinnett took the lead 12-10 on a field goal with 55 seconds to play, but Newton got a 38-yard field goal from Preston Taylor with one second remaining to pull out the home win.

Top performers: Newton quarterback Blake Brock had a 25-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, and Taylor hit his first field goal of the night early in the fourth, a 27-yarder. The Newton defense had two fumble recoveries in the third quarter, the first leading to Brock's TD run.

Eagle’s Landing Christian 34, Wesleyan 31: 

How the game was won: Wesleyan quarterback Banks Ramsey scored a 7-yard rushing touchdown midway through the first quarter to give the host Wolves a 7-0 lead. Eagle’s Landing Christian tied the game on the ensuing kickoff as Josh Mays returned it 80 yards for the score. The Wolves reclaimed the lead (10-7) with a Mateo Rengifo field goal but Chargers’ kicker Alex Usry booted a 25-yarder to tie it up 10-10. Brayden Rush tossed a 63-yard touchdown pass to Sean Queen with 5:10 left in the half to give ELCA its first lead of the game (17-10) and Usry added a 32-yard field goal to extend the lead to 20-10. Wesleyan tightened the deficit right before the half with a Ramsey touchdown pass to Grant Frerking from 13 yards out (20-17). Mays followed up his kickoff return touchdown with a 5-yard touchdown run to open the second half and give ELCA a 27-17 lead. Banks ran in a 1-yard Wesleyan touchdown with 2:30 left in the third quarter to make it 27-24. Rush tossed his second touchdown pass to Queen to push the lead back to double-digits (34-24) to start the fourth quarter. Ramsey tried to spark the comeback with a touchdown pass to Frerking with 2:29 left, but the Wolves failed to recover the onside kick and ELCA ran out the clock.

Top performers: Josh Mays scored an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown and ran in a 5-yard touchdown to spark the Chargers. ELCA quarterback Brayden Rush tossed two touchdowns to Sean Queen (63, 13). Banks Ramsey led Wesleyan with two rushing touchdowns and two touchdown passes to Grant Frerking.
