Four Questions with Wheeler County coach Randy Collins

GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.

Randy Collins, Wheeler County

1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach?"1985 Montgomery County vs. Lincoln County in the state semifinal game. Great athletes in that game. 1999 Wheeler County hosted the first playoff game in school history. It was a great atmosphere in Alamo, Ga." [Collins joined Wheeler County's staff in 1992 and became head coach this year. Montgomery County is his alma mater.]

2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "I have worked for several great coaches. I would say coach John Peacock and coach Britt Ingle. Both of them could get the most out of their athletes and really cared for them during and after their careers." [Ingle, now at Treutlen, was Wheeler County's head coach from 1997 to 2003. Peacock was Montgomery County's coach from 1980 to 1991.]

3. What is your pet peeve as a coach or favorite saying/motto? "Honor The Game"

4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "Transfer rules. I think it is a problem at every classification. It is very hard for a Class A school to overcome losing a player to transfer. I know some are legitimate, but many are not."
