Class AAAAAA second-round playoff wrap up

Class AAAAAA

Dalton 24, Lovejoy 14

How the game was won: Ahmaad Tanner ran in two touchdowns as the Catamounts cruised. Lovejoy scored a late touchdown but Dalton was able to recover the on-side kick.

Top Performers: Ahmaad Tanner scored on a 5-yard run and a 13-yard run. JP Tighe tossed a 28-yard touchdown pass to Kyric McGowan. Ivan Mora booted a 34-yard field goal to open up the scoring. Lovejoy scored on a Zion Custis 5-yard run to take an early 7-3 lead. John Seter threw a 13-yard strike to Kristian Grant late.

Valdosta 69, Northgate 14

Coffee 42, Alexander 34

How the game was won: Alexander was unable to keep pace with the Trojans. Daetrich Harrington was kept under wraps, while Coffee carried 40 times for 240 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Max Hughes had an efficient game through the air.

Top Performers: Max Hughes finished 18-of-28 for 214 yards and a score to lead the Trojans. Alexander was led by Mason Wood's 23-of-31 night, totaling 347 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Daetrich Harrington managed just 68 yards rushing on 22 carries but found the end zone twice. Justin Hall caught 10 passes for 180 yards and returned a punt 43 yards for a score. Stephen Winston caught five passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Glynn Academy 47, Allatoona 7

How the game was won: The Glynn Academy Terrors held the Allatoona Buccaneers scoreless for first three quarters of their state championship rematch. The Terrors led 20-0 at the end of the half and poured on 27 points in the third quarter. The Terrors' running game proved to be more than effective with five of their seven touchdowns coming off of rushes.

Top Performers: Thyshaun Wallace scored three of Glynn Academy's seven touchdowns. He scored his second touchdown on a 49 yard rush in the third quarter. Randon Jernigan contributed with a 58 yard pass to Tyshaun Wallace in the second quarter, and Wallace scored off a 16 yard rush in the third to bring the Terrors to 40 points.

Northside-Warner Robins 38, Langston Hughes 10

How the game was won: Northside-Warner Robins took a 24-10 lead into the half and grew the lead to 31-10 with 5:24 left in the third quarter on a Tobias Oliver 13-yard touchdown run. Oliver eclipsed 100 yards rushing and added 120 yards through the air.

Stephenson 20, Dacula 6

How the game was won: Stephenson has made the playoffs 17 straight seasons, but advanced to the quarterfinals for just the second time since 2006 Friday night. The Jags took a 20-6 lead into the half after holding the Falcons to a pair of field goals.
