Tech recruiting class now at 12 with Northview's Jair Anderson

Georgia Tech has received the commitment from the son of a former NFL star – athlete Jair Anderson of Northview High. Anderson, the son of former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Willie Anderson, announced his decision on his Twitter account Saturday.

Anderson, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, had reported offers from Georgia, Tennessee and made a visit to Illinois earlier in December. He played wide receiver and cornerback for the Titans. He told the AJC in August that “Georgia Tech is on me the hardest.”

He is listed as a two-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star recruit by Scout, which also rates him as the No. 6 athlete in the state. Tech’s class, now at 12 commits, already has two wide receivers, Steve Dolphus of Westside (Macon) High and Jalen Camp of South Forsyth High. The class doesn’t have any players slotted as cornerbacks. He is the first in the athlete category.

He is Tech’s first signee from a North Fulton high school since defensive tackle Denzel McCoy and defensive back Jake Skole were both part of the 2010 class from Northview and Blessed Trinity, respectively. Neither ever played for Tech, as McCoy had to take a medical redshirt due to a heart condition diagnosed after his arrival at the school while Skole signed a pro baseball contract.
