Georgia Tech secured its fourth commitment in a week, this time from a Gwinnett County powerhouse that has sent two of its graduates to the Yellow Jackets in the past three years.
Norcross High cornerback Dameon Williams, rated a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, announced his commitment to Tech Saturday on his Twitter account.
Williams had previously announced offers from Michigan State, Missouri, Mississippi State, Indiana, Duke, North Carolina and Iowa, among others.
Williams follows A-back Clinton Lynch and signee Jarett Cole, a defensive back, from Norcross. Prior to Lynch and Cole, Norcross graduate Anthony Autry was on the Tech roster for two seasons (2012-13) and his brother Myles was a signee before being released from his letter of intent in 2014.
Tech signed one cornerback in the 2016 class, Ajani Kerr from McEachern High, with young cornerbacks Meiko Dotson, Dorian Walker and Lamont Simmons on the roster.
Williams is the fifth overall commitment of the Tech class for 2017. Since last Sunday, coaches have received commitments from four prospects – two-way lineman Connor Hansen of Tallahassee, Fla., Buford High linebacker T.D. Roof , kicker Joseph Bulovas from Mandeville, La., and Williams.
