Eight teams scored perfect single-year APR scores in the 2013-14 academic year - golf, men’s swimming, women’s swimming, men’s tennis, volleyball, women’s outdoor track, women’s indoor track, and women’s cross country.

The Major League Baseball draft finished with two Georgia Tech players on the 2015 roster and five Yellow Jackets signees selected.

Senior outfielder/catcher A.J. Murray was taken in the 14th round by the Minnesota Twins (the 410th overall pick). Outfielder Daniel Spingola was taken in the 31st round, the 923rd overall pick. Spingola, who came to Tech as a walk-on, was taken seven rounds earlier by the Cubs last year, but elected to return to school. Murray was not drafted as a junior last season, but made an impression with a strong summer in the Cape Cod League and a 15-home run season this year.

The two draftees brings Tech’s total to 189, 128 of them during coach Danny Hall’s 22-season tenure. It is the 15th consecutive year that multiple Jackets have been taken in the draft, but also the thinnest selection since 2000, when just one Tech player was drafted.

Outfielder/third baseman Matt Gonzalez, ranked the No. 449 draft prospect by Baseball America, went unselected and will return for his senior season.

Catcher Tyler Stephenson from Kennesaw Mountain High was the first signee drafted, with the 11th pick in the first round, by the Cincinnati Reds. He was followed by pitcher Jonathan Hughes from Flowery Branch High, in the second round with the 68th overall pick, by the Baltimore Orioles.

Catcher Joey Bart from Buford High was taken in the 27th round by Tampa Bay. Shortstop Carter Hall, from the Wesleyan School and the son of coach Danny Hall, was selected by the Braves in the 34th round. The final signee taken was pitcher Tristin English, from Pike County High, in the 39th round by the Cleveland Indians.
