Georgia Tech picked up another member of its recruiting class Wednesday, receiving the commitment from South Forsyth High wide receiver Jalen Camp. He is the 10th prospect to commit to Tech's 2016 class. Camp followed the Tuesday commitment of Sonoraville High offensive line prospect Kenny Cooper.
Camp made the announcement on his Twitter account Wednesday. He had previously been committed to Liberty, an FCS team.
“I am looking forward to being a Yellow Jacket for the next 4 years,” Camp wrote. “#Ramblinwreck.”
Camp, finished with a strong senior season. In his final game, a Class AAAAA state quarterfinal playoff loss to Colquitt County, he caught five passes for 183 yards, three for touchdowns, including 84- and 63-yard scoring receptions. Colquitt County is ranked No. 2 in the country by USA Today.
Camp, listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, had reportedly received attention from Tech going back to last summer, when he committed to Liberty, along with Illinois and Cincinnati. He received a two-star ranking from Rivals.
