Georgia Tech guard Marcus Georges-Hunt was named the ACC player of the week Monday after leading the Yellow Jackets to wins over Florida State and Notre Dame with 46 points, including the game-winning basket in the 63-62 win over the Fighting Irish Saturday.

Georges-Hunt is the first Tech player to win the award in coach Brian Gregory’s tenure. The last was guard Iman Shumpert in March 2011.

For the week, Georges-Hunt made 13 of 27 shots from the field, including four of eight 3-point attempts. He had 11 assists (including seven against Notre Dame, tying his career high) against just two turnovers. He played all 40 minutes against the Irish, the first Tech player to play the full game since Jan. 1999.
