Former Georgia Tech B-back Travis Custis has returned to his home state to complete his college career. Custis, who transferred to Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College after the 2013-14 academic year for academic reasons, has signed a letter of intent with West Georgia. He has enrolled at the school already.

Custis played the 2014 season at Hutchinson and played the 2015 season at Glendale (Calif.) Community College. He will have two years of eligibility at West Georgia. Custis, from Lovejoy High, was a celebrated prospect for Tech in high school. He was to enroll in the fall of 2013 but had to delay until the following January due to an NCAA clearinghouse issue. He took part in spring practice but then left Tech after the spring term.

At Glendale, Custis gained 624 rushing yards in 10 games, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.

West Georgia reached the Division II national semifinals this past season, finishing with a record of 12-2. The Wolves finished the season ranked No. 3 in the country in the American Football Coaches Association poll. According to 247 Sports, Custis had FBS offers from Florida State, Wisconsin and USC, among others.
