Georgia Tech is going bowling , and they couldn't be happier about it.

Here are the grades from the win over Virginia Tech . Feel free to post your grades in the comments section.

Georgia Tech vs. Georgia is going to kick off at noon. Who would have guessed that? Colleague Ken Sugiura, and here's why .

The Yellow Jackets should get good news on the injury front ahead of Saturday's game against Virginia. I would point out that we were also told that last week.

ACC Power Poll

This ACC Power Poll can’t be affected by anything that happens during today’s election. If you have a complaint, please make sure you send it to my Bassett hound, Honey, because she seems to enjoy tearing up everything else in the house. She will no doubt enjoy treating your ballot like the Tar Heels treated Tech’s defense.

  1. Clemson (1): The Tigers (9-1, 6-1) were upset by Pitt. I know that they lost, but everyone in the ACC has a loss and the only team close to being as consistently good as the Tigers is Louisville, whose one loss came to…guess who?. Next: at Wake Forest.
  2. Louisville (2): (9-1, 7-1) The Cardinals rallied to defeat Wake Forest. That sounded odd to me, too. Next: at Houston on Thursday.
  3. Florida State (3): (7-3, 4-3) The Seminoles had no trouble defeating Boston College, which shouldn't have been a surprise. Next: at Syracuse.
  4. Pittsburgh (7): The Panthers (6-4, 3-3) bounced back from last week's loss to Miami to author an exciting upset of Clemson. Next: vs. Duke.
  5. North Carolina (4): (7-3, 5-2) The Tar Heels spit the bit in a loss to Duke and now must hope Virginia Tech loses its next two games to make it to the ACC title game. Next: vs. The Citadel.
  6. Virginia Tech (5): (7-3, 5-2) The Hokies were inexplicably upset by Georgia Tech. Next: at Notre Dame.
  7. Miami (6): The Hurricanes (6-4, 3-3) now have a two-game winning streak after knocking off the Cavs. Next: at N.C. State.
  8. Georgia Tech (9): The Yellow Jackets (6-4, 3-4) are going bowling after upsetting Virginia Tech. Next: vs. Virginia.
  9. Wake Forest (8): The Deacons (6-4, 3-3) were beaten by Louisville. Next: vs. Clemson.
  10. Duke (12): The Blue Devils (4-6, 1-5), losers to Georgia Tech, edged North Carolina, which demolished Georgia Tech. Next: at Pitt.
  11. N.C. State (10): The Wolfpack (5-5, 2-4) bounced back with a win over Syracuse. Next: vs. Miami.
  12. Syracuse (11): They (4-6, 2-4) feel to a reeling N.C. State. Next: vs. FSU.
  13. Boston College (13): The Eagles (4-6, 1-6) had no chance against, let's see, last week it was Florida State. Next: vs. Connecticut.
  14. Virginia (14): The Cavaliers (2-8, 1-4) lost to Wake Forest. My god, man. Next: at Georgia Tech.

Tech in the NFL

As you send your ideas (hint, hint) for content for our little Tuesday conversation, I'll try to add them. Here's one asking how Georgia Tech's players did in the NFL last week:

  • Jeremiah Attaochu, Chargers, OLB: No tackles in a 31-24 loss to the Dolphins.
  • Morgan Burnett, Packers, safety: Five tackles including a sack in a 47-25 loss to the Titans.
  • Adam Gotsis, Broncos, DT: One tackle in a 25-23 win over the Saints.
  • Michael Johnson, Bengals, DE/OLB: Team plays Monday night.
  • Shaq Mason, Patriots, OL: Started in a 31-24 loss to the Seahawks.
  • Daryl Smith, Bucs, LB: No tackles in a 36-10 win over the Bears.
  • Demaryius Thomas, Broncos, WR: Eight receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in a 25-23 win over the Saints.
  • Darren Waller, Ravens, TE: Two catches for 14 yards and a touchdown in a 28-7 win over the Browns.
  • Philip Wheeler, Falcons, LB: Four tackles in a 24-15 loss to the Eagles.
  • D.J. White, Chiefs, CB: No tackles in a 20-17 win over the Panthers. He is out injured.

Basketball rebounds

Josh Pastner picked up his first signee. It will be interesting to see the impact he will have.

But the Jackets missed out on two more recruits: Collin Sexton , who attends my alma mater, and Rayshaun Hammonds.

The Jackets won their first game, knocking off Tennessee Tech. Here's the report. But Pastner wants to see more from his team.

Recruiting Rewind

Three-star prospect Caleb Chandler received an offer from Tech.

OJ Tucker has committed to Tech , but now favors Maryland. Another reason why the word commit is useless in recruiting.
