Weekend traffic to be nightmarish for I-20, I-75 drivers

Expect heavy traffic along I-20 and I-75 this weekend due to extensive lane and ramp closures.

Drivers along Ga. 400 and parts of the Downtown Connector have it a bit easier.

Here are your trouble spots:

I-575

One southbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and the I-75 interchange from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The southbound entrance ramp and shoulder will close at Chastain Road from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

The northbound shoulder will close between Shallowford Road and Ga. 92 from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

I-75

Three southbound lanes will close between Marietta Parkway and Delk Road from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday and from 8 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday.

A traffic shift will take place across all northbound lanes between the I-285 interchange and Windy Hill Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

One northbound lane will close between Chastain Road and Ga. 92 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

One northbound will close at the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

On I-75 southbound, up to two lanes will close between Hudson Bridge Road and North McDonough Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The northbound and southbound ramps to and from Hollowell Parkway will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane will close between Glenwood Drive and the I-20 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Two eastbound lanes will close just after Thornton Road and Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Resurfacing will take place on the eastbound ramp to I-75/I-85 southbound from 8 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. The ramp will remain open.

Resurfacing will take place on the westbound ramp to I-75/I-85 southbound from midnight to 7 a.m. Sunday. The ramp will close.

One westbound lane will close between the I-285 interchange and Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The westbound exit ramp to Liberty Road will close and one westbound lane will close at Liberty Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for concrete rehabilitation.

A traffic pace will take place on all southbound lanes starting at the Mount Vernon exit near the Cobb-Fulton county line starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Two southbound lanes will close between Forest Parkway and Tara Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Up to three southbound lanes and shoulder will close between Forest Parkway and Jonesboro Road from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.

Two northbound lanes will close between Jonesboro Road and Tara Boulevard from 7 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A traffic pace will take place on all southbound lanes between Lenox Road and the Buford Spring Connector starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.

A traffic pace will take place on all northbound lanes between the Ralph McGill overpass and Freedom Parkway starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Four northbound lanes and shoulder will close between Freedom Parkway and the Brookwood interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A traffic pace will take place on all southbound lanes beginning at I-285 starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.

On Memorial Drive, one lane will close between Loomis Avenue and Woods Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

One lane will close on Rex Road along I-675 and Anvil Block Road along I-675 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge rehabilitation.

On Winder Highway, one northbound and one southbound lane will close between Stanley Court and the Barrow County line from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.

On Hugh Howell Road, one lane will close between U.S. 78 and Lawrenceville Highway from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
