Watch for road work in metro Atlanta this weekend


Planning to travel this weekend? The Georgia Department of Transportation reminds motorists that the summer road construction season has begun.

Here’s a list of the work in metro Atlanta that could affect your travel plans.

Clayton County

One southbound lane of I-75 from Ga. 138 to GA. 155, then from Ga. 155 to Jonesboro Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

One southbound lane of I-75 from Ga. 138 to I-675 and one southbound lane on I-675 from Ga. 138 to Anvilblock Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Cobb County

Alternating lanes will be closed on southbound I-575 from Towne Lake Parkway to Ga. 92 from. 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Three northbound lanes on I-75 will be closed from Akers Mill Road to the exit ramp for I285 westbound from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Traffic pacing will occur on northbound I-75 from West Paces Ferry Road to Cumberland Boulevard from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will be closed on the southbound I-75 exit ramp to Windy Hill Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Two lanes will be closed on southbound I-75 from Woodstock Road to Hickory Grove Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Three alternating lanes will be closed on southbound I-75 from I-575 to Bells Ferry Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Two lanes will be close on southbound I-75 from South Marietta Parkway to Delk Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

The exit ramp from southbound I-75 to South Marietta Parkway will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Traffic pacing will occur on southbound I-75 from Ga. 92 to Hickory Grove Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

One lane will be closed on southbound I-75 on the entrance ramp from Delk Road from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Alternative lanes will close on northbound Frey Road from Loop Road to George Busbee Parkway from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

One lane will close on Delk Road between the I-75 northbound and southbound entrance ramps from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Alternating lanes will close on southbound I-575 from Ga. 92 to Shallowford Road from 8 p.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Two lanes will close on northbound I-75 from Mt. Paran Road to Cumberland Boulevard from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Two lanes will close on southbound I-75 from I-575 to Dickson Road from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will close on southbound I-75 from Cumberland Boulevard to Mt. Paran Road from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

DeKalb County

Buford Highway will be closed between Longmire Way and McElroy Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Fulton County

Peachtree Road will be closed from Lenox Road to Oak Valley Road from 7 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday.

One lane on southbound Ga. 70 will be closed from I-20 to Ga. 166 from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The I-20 westbound ramp to I-285 southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will be closed on eastbound Ga. 166 on the loop ramp to northbound I-285 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane on southbound I-85 will be closed from Clairmont Road to Cheshire Bridge Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will be closed in each direction on I-85 from Bridge 5 to bridge 8 from 10 a.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Monday.

One lane will be closed on southbound I-75 to northbound I-85 to the Buford Spring Connector from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Three lanes will close on southbound I-75/I-85 from William Street to Cleveland Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will close on eastbound I-285 eastbound from Riverside Drive to east of Ashford Dunwoody Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.

One lane will close on thee I-20 westbound ramp to Lowery Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane will be closed on Ga. 154/Ga. 166 over I-285 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

One lane will be closed on Ponce de Leon Avenue from Piedmont Road to Moreland Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

One lane will be closed on westbound I-20 from Ga. 70 to Six Flags Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Monday.

Gwinnett County

One lane will close in each direction on I-85 from Gravel Springs Road to Hamilton Mill Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Monday.

Henry County

Two lanes of I-75 in each direction will be closed from I-285 to Dixie Highway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
