President Barack Obama will visit downtown Atlanta on Tuesday, likely leading to some traffic tie-ups during the afternoon commute.
New details as of Tuesday morning: The president's schedule has him flying into Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport shortly after lunchtime on Tuesday, and heading to the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel at 210 Peachtree St. NW. Around mid-afternoon, he will depart from the hotel and return to the airport, where he will fly back to Washington D.C. shortly after 4 p.m.
Several roads are expected to be closed for his motorcade.
The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority emailed its suburban commuter bus patrons on Monday, warning them to anticipate potential delays in the afternoon. GRTA said it would make every effort to to adhere to regularly scheduled times, and no Xpress stops are currently expected to be impacted.
