Drivers along Ga. 9 in Alpharetta can expect delays in during their morning and evening commutes for the next six to eight weeks starting Monday.
The intersection with Milton Avenue/Academy Street in Downtown Alpharetta will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for a resurfacing project, Alpharetta city spokesman James Drinkard said in a release. Road closures are expected to cause traffic delays.
Crews will remove a layer of the pavement and make any structural repairs to the roads, such as filling potholes, Drinkard said. After the repairs are complete, they will apply a final layer of asphalt.
Crews will apply road and directional markings two weeks after that final layer has been applied.
Residents and drivers should expect rough roads and uneven lanes, Drinkard said. Drivers are urged to reduce speeds and use caution while driving.
