We've seen a lot of development in recent years in the realm of alternative fuel technology.

Electric vehicle sales are taking off. Many companies are also converting their fleets to run on compressed natural gas, with MARTA buses being one local example.

Now, though, there's an alternative fuel that can do even better for our environment, and perhaps our wallet.

Zero Pollution Motors markets a $10,000 vehicle called the AIRPod that's entirely powered by compressed air. They call it the "urban car of the future." And the vehicle should be available for sale in the U.S. within the year. Plans are under way to start production in Hawaii, according to the company's website.

Now I've seen everything.
