Metro Atlanta road work could affect your weekend plans

School is just around the corner, and summer may be winding down. But the road construction season is still in full swing.

Here’s a look at the metro Atlanta highway construction that could affect your travel plans this weekend, courtesy of the Georgia Department of Transportation. As usual, much of the work is related to construction of the Northwest Express Lanes on I-75 and I-575 in Cobb County. And avoid driving northbound on the Downtown Connector.

Clayton County

Two lanes and half of the ramp to Forest Parkway will be closed on northbound I-75 from Forest Parkway to I-285 from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Two northbound lanes will be closed on I-75 at Mile Post 238 from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Cobb County

One southbound lane of I-575 will be closed from Dupree Road to Shallowford Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

One northbound lane of I-575 will be closed from Sixes Road to Rabbit Hill Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

One southbound lane of I-75 will be closed around Barrett Parkway from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Two southbound lanes of I-75 will be closed from Windy Ridge Parkway to the exit ramp for I-285 westbound from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The southbound I-75 ramp from Barrett Parkway will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Two southbound lanes of I-75 from South Marietta Parkway to north of Delk Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Traffic pacing will occur on southbound I-75 from Delk Road to the ramp from the I-285 westbound collector distributor lanes from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Two eastbound lanes of I-285 will be closed from the I-75 interchange to Powers Ferry Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Frey Gin Road will be closed from Roswell Road to Ban Berry Road from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Two eastbound lanes of I-285 will be closed from Paces Ferry Road to Mt. Wilkinson Parkway from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Three eastbound lanes of I-285 will be closed from Paces Ferry Road to New Northside Drive from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Traffic pacing will occur on eastbound I-285 from Atlanta Road to Cobb Parkway from 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.

One westbound lane of I-285 will be closed from Cobb Parkway to Paces Ferry Road from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One eastbound lane of I-20 from Midway Road to Six Flags and one westbound lane of I-20 from Lee Road to Midway Road will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

DeKalb County

Two northbound lanes of I-85 will be closed from Shallowford Road to I-285 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Fulton County

One lane will be closed in each direction on Ga. 400 at Holcomb Bridge Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Four northbound lanes will be closed on I-75/I-85 from North Avenue to Fulton Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One northbound lane of U.S. 29 will be closed from GA. 138 to Delano Drive from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Two northbound lanes on I-285 will be closed from GA. 139 to I-20 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane in each direction will be closed on I-285 from Lake Forrest Drive and Ashford Dunwoody Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

One lane will be closed in each direction on Ga. 400 from Hammond Drive to the Glenridge Connector from 8 p.m.  Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

One lane will be closed on I-285 from Riverside Drive to Ashford Dunwoody Road from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Gwinnett County

Two southbound lanes of I-85 will be closed from Jimmy Carter Boulevard to Shallowford Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane in each direction on Ronald Reagan Parkway will be closed from Lawrenceville Highway to Pleasant Hill Road from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One northbound lane on I-85 will be closed from I-985 to Gravel Springs Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One lane in each direction on I-85 from Hamilton Mill Road to Gravel Springs Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One southbound lane of I-85 will be closed from Gravel Springs Road to Ga. 20 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One northbound lane of I-85 will be closed from Old Peachtree Road to Ga. 317 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

One southbound lane of I-85 will be closed from I-985 to McGinnis Ferry Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
