A rezoning request for a huge planned development around the Brookhaven MARTA station has been postponed to allow the city of Brookhaven to study the potential impact to traffic.
The postponement (until June 1) is happening so that the city can investigate the traffic impact as well as the impact the proposed development could have on other infrastructure. The Atlanta Regional Commission Georgia Department of Transportation, and DeKalb County will also be part of the joint study effort.

At Monday night's town hall meeting, Mayor John Ernst announced that MARTA and Brookhaven City Center Partners (a joint venture of Integral Development and Transwestern Development Company) had agreed to the postponement.
"I've heard residents' concerns, and there are many unanswered questions regarding these plans," said Ernst in a press release. "Any development at this site will have a big impact on our community for decades, and this process cannot be rushed."
