Construction workers will close two lanes on I-85 -- one northbound and one southbound -- on May 26, while they work on the Peachtree Street Bridge in Midtown.

Starting Thursday, May 26, at 10 p.m., workers will close one lane on I-85 northbound between the I-75/I-85 split and Buford Highway and one lane on I-85 southbound between the I-75 interchange and the 10th/14th/17th Street exit. The closures are a part of a bridge project for the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is urging drivers in the area to slow down and proceed with caution in the area. Workers and heavy equipment will be close to the roadway, according to GDOT.

The lanes are scheduled to reopen on Friday, May 27, at 5 a.m.
