If you're thinking of taking I-75 to get anywhere this weekend, you might want to think again.

While the Georgia Department of Transportation suspended construction-related lane closures Thursday on I-75 from the Georgia/Florida line to Barrett Parkway in Cobb County, drivers from nearby states escaping Hurricane Matthew jammed the highway late in the week.

The traffic added to metro Atlanta's already packed weekday commute, and road work is expected to make it worse, especially along the Downtown Connector, I-20 and parts of I-75 that cover Clayton County.
