Good news: Ride those new I-75 lanes free for two weeks

The state has good news for commuters eager to use the new I-75 express lanes that open Saturday: The first two weeks will be free.

Gov. Nathan Deal made the announcement at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new lanes Thursday. Drivers will still need a Peach Pass to use the lanes during the free period.

The two new lanes in Clayton and Henry counties are reversible: They’ll carry traffic northbound into Atlanta in the morning and southbound out of town in the afternoon.

After the first 14 days, drivers will pay 10 cents to 90 cents a mile to use the lanes, with a minimum cost of 50 cents per trip.

You can learn more about the new lanes here.
