The city of Atlanta didn't have to look far to find a new Chief Bicycle Officer.

Becky Katz, who starts officially on Oct. 14, is already an active volunteer and member of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition as well as the grants project manager for Park Pride. According to Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Katz lives in Adair Park, has a masters degree in environmental engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and an undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

"This position will be integral to the city’s continued progress on our Cycle Atlanta goals," said Mayor Kasim Reed. "Ms. Katz is joining an administration that is energized and organized around the many opportunities before us to make Atlanta the most bikeable, walkable, livable city in the Southeast.”
