Watch trailer: Will Madea be buried in ‘Madea Family Funeral’ film?

Trying to get back on her feet, wild child Tanya (Tiffany Haddish) looks to her buttoned-up, by the book sister Danica (Tika Sumpter) to help her get back on track. As these polar opposites collide — with hilarious and sometimes disastrous results — Tanya discovers that Danica’s picture-perfect life — including her mysterious boyfriend — may not be what it seems.

After announcing that the Madea character would be no longer, Tyler Perry released the trailer for his upcoming film “A Madea Family Funeral.”

The flick, which he shot more than two years ago, tells the story of a joyous family reunion that turns into a hilarious nightmare when relatives have to unexpectedly plan a funeral.

While Madea isn’t the one being buried, Perry recently revealed the flick would mark his last time playing the long-running matriarch, who first appeared as a 68-year-old in the 1999 stage play “I Can Do Bad All by Myself,” followed by the play and film, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.”

"I'm happy to kill that old [expletive]. I'm tired, man," he joked during an interview with SiriusXM earlier this week. "I just don't want to be her age [still] playing her."

"A Madea Family Funeral," which Perry wrote and directed, is set to premiere in Friday, March 1. He is also behind the soon-to-be-released Atlanta-filmed "Nobody's Fool" featuring stars Tiffany Haddish and Tika Sumpter.
