Former NFL quarterback-turned-baseball player Tim Tebow will appear at the Marietta Sam's Club for a signing of his new book, "Shaken," at 6 p.m. today. The store's address is 150 Cobb Parkway South.

You must have a ticket, which is available when you buy the book at the Marietta Sam's Club. Memberships to Sam's Clubs start at $45; if you're not a member, a day pass to the shopping club is available.

The Heisman trophy winner and analyst now signed with the New York Mets has been talking about his new book in media interviews. From the book's publicists: "Readers will be riveted as Tebow recalls being called into a head coach's office knowing the news will be bad. They'll feel Tebow's sorrow when the reality sets in that he has no job, no car, no home and likely no future in the NFL. They will fight back tears as he shares the stories of critically ill children who have inspired him along the way and given him a new understanding of what it means to be strong and courageous. Tebow's experiences will connect with football fans and faith followers alike. Not only will readers be encouraged as they tackle life's obstacles, they will also be inspired to make a difference."

The harrowing anecdote making the rounds: After Tebow signed with the New England Patriots in 2013, coach Bill Belichick talked him out of a one-day endorsement gig that would have paid $1 million - then cut him just a couple of months later.
