Joy Reid, host of MSNBC's AM Joy, continues to be haunted by blog posts from the past. She has issued yet another apology on Friday after more offensive posts from her now defunct blog surfaced.

It is another twist in what has been a six-month uncovering of homophobic and offensive comments made by Reid on a blog she created and operated before becoming a liberal media personality for MSNBC.

On Thursday, another post from Reid's former blog appeared on BuzzFeed News .  In the post, an image of Senator John McCain's head had been Photoshopped onto the body of Seung-Hui Cho, the 2007 shooter who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech. On Friday, Reid apologized with the following statement:

“While I published my blog, starting in 2005, I wrote thousands of posts in real time on the issues of the day. There are things I deeply regret and am embarrassed by, things I would have said differently and issues where my position has changed,” said Reid. “Today I’m sincerely apologizing again.”

For six-months Reid has waffled between apologizing for her actions to blaming hackers to offering more apologies.

When homophobic posts surfaced in December, Reid apologized, but when more posts appeared in April via social media including one criticizing Rachel Maddow -- who is now Reid's colleague on MSNBC but was not at the time of the post -- Reid said her inactive, ten-year-old blog had been hacked. Despite her claims, no evidence was ever found that her old blog had been breached.

In reference to the newly released blog post, Reid said she had communicated with Senator McCain's daughter, Meaghan who had reacted on Twitter:

The controversy has caused some MSNBC insiders, to question Reid's credibility particularly after she was recently mocked online for weighing in on the Roseanne Barr debacle .

In a Daily Beast story, anonymous insiders have said they are upset with how the network is handling the situation with Reid. The Daily Beast suspended Reid's column in December 2017 when the first blog posts surfaced, however, MSNBC/NBC-Universal has so far supported Reid.

“Some of the things written by Joy on her old blog are obviously hateful and hurtful. They are not reflective of the colleague and friend we have known at MSNBC for the past seven years,” said MSNBC in a statement Friday. “Joy has apologized publicly and privately and said she has grown and evolved in the many years since, and we know this to be true.”
