Hoda Kotb moves into the "Today" co-anchor chair for good

It's official: Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie will co-anchor "Today" following Matt Lauer's dismissal in disgrace.

The pair opened a broadcast in late November to report the news that Lauer had been abruptly dismissed.

“Right now we do not know more than what I just shared with you,” Guthrie said after she read the entire statement NBC put out regarding Lauer. “I’m heartbroken.”

Her voice sounding shaky, Guthrie said she felt for both Lauer, her longtime friend and colleague, and the person who lodged the complaint. Since then many more allegations have surfaced - many of them harrowing - and Kotb had been filling in.

The vibe is far more celebratory today - see the happy posts below.
