Donald Trump lashes out after Mike Pence booed at "Hamilton" performance

President-elect Donald Trump is demanding an apology Veep-elect Mike Pence got booed during a performance of "Hamilton," the hit Broadway phenomenon.

The audience booed Pence loudly at several points during the evening, as a theater patron's Twitter clip captured.

Afterward, actor Brandon Victor Dixon addressed Pence directly, from the stage, on behalf of the cast (and, it seems, the audience as well).

"We had a .. guest in the audience this evening," Dixon said. Pence was exiting the theater but Dixon urged him to stick around for another minute, which the vice president-elect did.

"We welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us," Dixon began. "

The crowd applauded enthusiastically.

A livid president-elect Donald Trump lashed out via Twitter:

Pence hasn't responded publicly; his most recent social media post from Nov. 17 says, "Great day of meetings on Capitol Hill with House and Senate leadership talking about working together on a Trump agenda for America."

The hashtag #BoycottHamilton is now trending, to apparently zero effect. The show is sold out through at least August 2017.
