Rapper Snoop Dogg took aim, so to speak, at President Donald Trump in his latest video. In the profanity-riddled work the artist points a fake gun (the kind that sends out a little flag that says "BANG!") at a "Trump" character dressed as a clown.

Trump responded via his favorite medium, tweeting that Snoop's work could have had him facing "jail time" had the video featured his White House predecessor.

Trump's one-time presidential rival, Sen. Marco Rubio, told TMZ, "Snoop shouldn't have done that … You know, we've had presidents assassinated before in this country."

Author and commentator Eric Schiffer, CEO of ReputationManagementConsultants.com, was more pointed in his assessment:

"This isn't 'art'" he said. "It's a brainless, federal offense all because Snoop Dogg's failing career is desperate. Snoop's 'clowning' is playing with fire. "
