A Florida-based barbecue chain is poised to open its first metro Atlanta location next month.

Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar-B-Q, a fast-casual spinoff of Jacksonville spot Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q, will open at 2015 West Highway 54 Ste. 101 in Peachtree City. The chain already has Georgia locations in Kingsland and Augusta, and other locations in Florida,  New Hampshire and South Carolina.

The menu will include barbecue staples such as platters and sandwiches with pulled pork, smoked sausage, smoked turkey and beef brisket; snacks and sides including fried okra and pickles, country corn fritters, collard greens and mac n' cheese; salads; desserts; and a kids menu.

The concept, created by Joe Adeeb and Atlanta native Josh Martino, is named after Willie Jewell Daniels, who was rescued from the streets of Jacksonville by Adeeb's grandfather when she was a teenager and went on to cook for his family restaurant.
