He plays dirty with zombies on "The Walking Dead," but actor Norman Reedus wages a different battle at his Senoia restaurant.
Reedus discussed Nic & Norman's, the eatery he opened last year with "Dead" director and executive producer Greg Nicotero, on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" last week, including a burger throwdown between the two.
"I don't eat meats, but our black bean burger is great," Reedus told Colbert. He said he and Nicotero each came up with a burger and competed to see whose was the more ordered item off the restaurant's menu.
"(Greg)'s was a bleu cheese burger," said Reedus, whose entry was the black bean burger. "He's crushing me right now."
He described the spot's menu as "Southern feel-good food and a lot of it," with "things fried, and mountains of gravy on stuff fried."
Colbert asked if it was a family restaurant, to which Reedus responded, "If your whole family got drunk and needed sobering food."
"And you'd go right from there to family counseling," Colbert replied.
Located at 20 Main St. in Senoia, Nic & Norman's features pub food including burgers, salads, flatbreads and desserts, as well as a full cocktail list. The restaurant is decorated with art created by Reedus and Nicotero.
