UPDATED: Atlanta restaurants, bars celebrate I-85 reopening with food and drink deals

Thanks to the closure of a section of I-85, Atlantans have endured a traffic saga for six long weeks. The reopening of the highway brings a sigh of relief to drivers and to nearby restaurants that have seen a decline in business since the bridge collapsed March 30 .

The I-85 reopening is as good excuse as any to throw a party. Here are bars and restaurants offering freebies and deals in honor of the occasion:

Buckhead Bread Company & Corner Café is offering free coffee and mini croissants on Monday beginning at 6:30 a.m. The offer is limited to one croissant per person, and while supplies last. Corner Café, 3070 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta, 404-240-1978,   

In lieu of traffic, let tequila be your headache. Tin Lizzy's Cantina will offer $1.85 margaritas all day Monday at all of its Atlanta locations. Tin Lizzy’s Cantina,

Head to any Taco Mac on Monday for a special Double Credit Monday, where all SweetWater 420 draft purchases nets 8.5 beer credits. Double Credit Monday normally comes with two points but Taco Mac is adding an extra 6.5 credits. In addition, if you visit a Taco Mac location in Cumberland, Decatur, Lindbergh, Metro, Perimeter, Prado or Virginia-Highland between May 15 and 22, you can enter for a chance to win an $85 gift card or a happy hour party. This week, Buckhead Life Restaurant Group is offering discounted three-course dinners at numerous of its restaurants. This “Dine then Drive” promotion is available Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m. The offer is available at Atlanta Fish Market ($29), Bistro Niko ($29), Buckhead Diner ($28), Kyma ($32) and Pricci ($32). SweetWater Brewing Co., located near all of the hullabaloo, is hosting the “I Survived I-85 Party” on May 26. What’s on tap? Beer, Fox Bros. BBQ, live music and all-around happiness. General tour tickets are $12. VIP tickets are $25. Purchase tickets here.

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse in Phipps Plaza is offering their Spring Roll Sampler for $8.50 Monday through Friday.

Liquor store Green's is discounting select beer, wine and spirits. All prices are Green's Cash Price. The offer is valid through May 18 and while supplies last. Find the deals at Green's locations on Ponce de Leon Avenue and Buford Highway.
